In a bid to boost the tourism of Rajasthan, Department of Tourism Rajasthan and Indian Railways, in a joint venture, started India’s first luxury train service by the name Palace on Wheels.The Heritage Caravan has been running for the past four years, and patrons have in the fact been treated to fun-filled activities on the bus. An epitome of Rajasthan culture and royal heritage, each train coach has an individual name, named after cities of Rajasthan. The train has all the luxurious facilities like onboard spa, restaurants and bars, personal safety box, wifi, lounge, deluxe accommodations, laundry etc. Heritage Palace on Wheels Desert Triangle takes guests through the scenic cities of Delhi, Jaipur, Bikaner, and Agra before returning back to Delhi. Starting its journey from the national capital, Delhi, the trains moves towards its first destination – Bikaner. Away from the chaos of the touristy city, lies a haven for those who seek solitude. With grand forts and palace and less crowd, Bikaner has emerged to be the new tourist attraction in Rajasthan. Post-Bikaner, the caravan moves to the Pink city of India. In Jaipur, guests get to experience the colorful culture and tradition of Rajasthan. Jaipur is also home to many forts, which now serve as a tourist attraction. Jaipur also has UNESCO World Heritage site, Jantar Mantar. The next stop is Agra, which is home to one of the seven wonders of the world, Taj Mahal. Apart from the famous Taj, Agra boasts many other Mughal monuments like Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri.
Agra was once a capital of Mughal empire and the traces of Mughal heritage is still visible in Agra. From Agra, we return back to the national capital Delhi marking an end to the luxury trip.
